Yes, That Too: Yes, self diagnosis can be valid.

Also, because autism spectrum diagnoses in adults seem to be non existent in the UK, if you are not "caught" as a kid, self-diagnosis is all you have.

Yeah, it is similar to how I knew from age 19 that I was likely to have MS but was only diagnosed at age 30. The wife of one of my professors at York Uni where I did my BSc Biochemistry (85-88) had MS and he was researching into myelin repair in the CNS (a possible treatment for MS which is where the body attacks its own myelin, the protein that coats axons (nerve cells in the CNS)).

Parenthetical comment has loads of parentheses. ;-p
