BBC News - Sir Terry Pratchett, renowned fantasy author, dies aged 66

Yes we knew it was coming, and everyone dies, but this is still so terribly sad. I do love his tweeted obituary, though. Goodnight Sir pTerry.

ETA 20150313: Either I cannot see that in the current article or they removed the part in the version I originally read on my phone that talked about him leaving his "close friend Rob Wilkins" as well as his family. I find this edit very sad. At least the email I have just received from Dignity in Dying, of which Terry was a/the patron included exactly those words.
That email also links to a moving tribute in The Independent from one of his fellow campaigners who writes, "whilst we have lost one of our most vocal and brilliant supporters it is surely only a matter of time before Terry’s wish - to be 'as good at dying as we are at living' - is realised."

ETA #2 20150313: I have just stumbled upon this quote in the captions to the photo gallery on that Independent article: “The trouble with having an open mind, of course, is that people will insist on coming along and trying to put things in it”
