I feel like a huge failure. This is my 4th year in community college. I still have 3 more semesters til I'm done with this program. It is supposed to only take 2 years, but it will have taken me 5 by the time I'm finished. It's my own fault for changing my major 4 times. I should be starting my last semester of my Bachelor's degree (4 year) now, but instead, I won't even have my Associate's (2 year) until next Spring. Additionally, the degree I'm working on probably won't even help me out with getting a job. I'm a f***ing failure. I just don't know what to do. The whole situation is so complicated. My reply to that
That is better than doing a 3 year BSc Biochemistry that you hated, then a 1 year MSc Information Technology conversion course and then working for ten years as a programmer - a job that you also HATED - before getting diagnosed with multiple sclerosis (which explained all the lengthy illnesses and *why* you hated and could not deal with lab work and/or long days concentrating on programming only to "retire" on health grounds without any pension paying out. Do what you like/love. Don't get stuck doing something you hate just because it is supposedly lucrative. We only have this life to live so do it with love enjoyment rather than duty and need.
Yeah. Some life truths that I wish I had known at eighteen.
