  • 02:45:28: Off to #bed.
  • 04:28:18: It is so cold despite multiple fleece blankets, being fully clothed and wearing gloves in bed. Keep fumbling my sleep roll! #stillawake
  • 04:32:52: Putting on second sweater and second pair of socks. Heading down to make some tea. Giving up trying to get to sleep.
  • 04:43:16: Now also wearing my fleece beanie hat and a buff as a neckwrap. Starting to warm up after walking downstairs, making tea and walking back up
  • 04:44:25: #knitting helps as well, even if it is only garter stitch (with occasional increases and decreases). #webreading too.
  • 11:22:33: Okay - having failed to sleep earlier, I am starting to feel sleepy again so I am off to #bed to try to sleep now instead.
  • 11:35:32: Just as I get into bed, doorbell rings. Grab bathrobe and wobble down the 2 staircases. Jehovah's Witnesses. Said they'd read our notice …
  • 11:38:01: … about stairs and being disabled bur rang bell anyway. Need to add to notice. Something about no cold callers selling religion or ANYTHING!
  • 11:40:19: That and get one about, "Our gods would eat your god," with a picture of the Lovecraftian pantheon. Back in #bed now.
  • 16:58:34: #wakingup
  • 19:14:02: #feedingcats
  • 19:18:26: While I remember, #meds1 #meds2 #copaxone LH 1610 & #meal1=porridge.
  • 19:42:30: Splitting #headache #paincount=5 #cocodamol
  • 19:43:40: Rooibos #tea
  • 21:00:58: Apparently so! RT @nobleday @natdaylog when you're working your way to heaven no one else matters!!! #disrespect #JWs #coldcallers
  • 22:10:08: *relieved sigh* painkillers start to work. Should probably make myself another meal. #meal2
  • 22:17:02: Off to make #meal2 and then watch some tv and do some #kniting.

"Hello. What do you want?"

I wrote this last LJ post night but it would not post for some reason:

Posted on (a link to my hellowhatdoyouwant):

A cure for multiple sclerosis and the means to live comfortably

I have multiple sclerosis (MS). It is incurable and, although mine is relatively mild, I would love a cure for myself and all of the other people in this world that deal with life under the MonSter.
I live in a triplex/maisonette with a flight of stairs from the front door to the kitchen and another from the kitchen up to the rest of the rooms. Whilst I can manage the stairs most days, a single storey bungalow or ground floor flat would be so much easier to live with.
I also cannot manage to do ANY housework or chores. A cleaner/housekeeper would be wonderful. I am no longer able to drive and so hubby does all of the shopping and I am so clumsy now that he also does all of the cooking. I love him for being willing to do these things but it is taking a toll on him and a housekeeper/PA/companion would be such a boon.
However, we are both currently bankrupt and so do not have the means to move or hire any help. I cannot work but do draw state benefits to help out. Hubby is currently also out of work and signed off with depression.
So, what I would like / want is to catch a break. We need better than this to be able to live comfortably but do not have the ability to get this for ourselves. A cure for MS is currently unlikely and the other stuff all takes money that we do not have.
Access to an accessible garden (with a gardener or the same does-everything-housekeeper as before) or even a patio to be able to sit outdoors in the fresh air would be wonderful, as well, but is currently beyond my wildest dreams.

I took the attached picture in my mum's garden - which is to long a walk from here for me to visit often.

Knickers and bra, of course. Long sleeved t-shirt. Two pairs of socks (one hand-knitted and another older baggier pair of shop-bought that have felted in the wash). Sweatshirt. Fleece sweater with stand-up collar. Jeans. Joggers over the top. Hand-knitted fingerless gloves. Buff as a nick-warmer. Turtlefur fleece hat. Indoors in my room.

It is on days like this that I miss my space-heater (dualG5 tower mac - swapped it with hubby for his Intel iMac). We can't afford to boost/advance/turn the heating on during the day.

ETA: I also have a blanket over my lap/knees/lap and my knees are still cold!
