This week's TheFridayFive:

1. What were some of the smells and tastes of your childhood?
Fresh air, rain ionised wind, mud, green-ness and earth.

2. What did you have as a child that you do not think children today have?
The freedom to explore a large garden (and those of my grandparents) whilst not having even as much freedom as many of my peers at the time.

3. What elementary grade was your favorite?
There is no such thing as an "elementary grade" in the UK and so I am going to assume that this question refers to "junior school year" and say that my first junior school year was probably my favourite (age 7) because it was before the worst of the bullying and depression but, to be honest, I was not truly happy with school after about age 6 because the bullying started at age 7. I always loved school and learning - it was just the kids and some of the teachers that made my life hell.

4. What summer do you remember the best as a child?
I am not sure which year it was but whatever year in the second half of the seventies that we had the heat-wave in southern England.

5. What one piece of advice would you give to your younger self, and at what age?
Don't listen to your inner self when it tells you that all of that (not just the bullying) was your fault. None of it was. You are amazing and will survive many much worse piles of dung that life will one day throw at you than this...

Only three more sleeps until we will no longer be in Billingshurst...
