LJ Anniversary!

Today is my 6th LJ Anniversary:

Our wedding anniversary is on the 9th. I created my LJ because hubby and I had separated (9 months, all told, but happily back together now) and I was needing somewhere to vent and dreading our anniversary that year.

So. I am still here and still using LJ to journal, blog, vent, share and hug all of my online friends and acquaintances. Now that my account is a permanent account (I STILL don't know who to thank for anonymously buying that for me!) I don't expect to be moving away from LJ in a hurry - not unless they change something fundamental and change it drastically, or totally break what LJ means to me...

Icon almost-meme

If you want to play along, here are the rules:

1. Reply to this post, and I will try to remember to get around to picking five of your icons.
2. Make a post (including the meme info) and talk about the icons I chose.
3. Other people can then comment to you and make their own posts.
4. This will create a never-ending cycle of icon squee. Whoo!"

words_spoken asked me about the following five of my userpics/icons/avatars:

cats-talkThis is a scan of a fridge magnet that I received as a gift from my mum (with an attached book of cat-isms). I tend to use it for posts/comments about cats/pets and/or when discussing things about other people who are not on LJ but are in the original poster's real lives.
flower, thriftI took this photo in Pembrokeshire, Wales, UK. The flowers are called Thrift, or Sea Pinks. I tend to use this icon when offering sympathy. photograph © Natalie S Ford (me)
sleep20hoursI 'borrowed'/liberated/stole this ocon from someone else. It is made from a Get Fuzzy comic and shows Bucky Katt dressed up as Che Guavara (sp?). The text was added before I acquired it and, to me, means that it is hard for me to get anything done when I am always tired due to the MS fatigue.
red-roofed-hutI took this photo in the nature reserve at Rye Harbour, one of my favourite places in the whole world. This hut is iconic for Rye Harbour and seeing this picture makes me smile. It means summer, warmth, relaxation, happiness from taking photos, nature, fresh-air and so, so much more! photograph © Natalie S Ford (me)
thankyouI took this photo at Drusillas and I thought that it made a cute picture to use to say thank you to people that compliment my photos. For years I would just say, in reply to such a compliment, that "all I did was point the camera and click the shutter - the scene was there for the shooting!" It has taken me years to realise that this belittled the person complimenting me and so belittled me. I now simply say "Thank you!" and try to be more gracious. photograph © Natalie S Ford (me)

I will add to this as more people ask about my icons. There is at least one other person who may...
