The cat fleas that the flat was infested with when we moved in no longer have our poor cats to eat (they never had fleas at the old place except for one bout after a cattery stay) and have decided that I am the next best meal and I appear to be allergic. Antihistamine cream (OTC) to the rescue! Also the Benadryl syrup that I take in the summer for hayfever (the tablets/pills have lactose in them and make me ill).

I'd recommend that your diet features a fair bit of garlic as well for awhile. Antihistamines treat the bite after you've been bit, but garlic will keep the fleas away from you. Allyl methyl sulfide [the garlic smell] isn't digested, instead it's adsorbed into the body and exuded through the sweat, and fleas hate it.

Thanks for that. I will pass it on to the shopper/chef (hubby)!
