My writerbrain wakes up as I lie down to sleep

A brain-dump free-verse poem that fell out of my head/pen as I laid down for a nap:

Today the snakes
in my ears have evolved
into steam escaping
in panic from
a pressure cooker valve.

Just add earplugs
for an instant
and personal
white noise generator.

The barometric pressure
changes again
and my eyes and brain
scream in harmony
with my ears.

Yeah, so, most of my poetry seems to be navel gazing. Maybe if someone leaves me a prompt here in the comments I can write about that instead? I have never tried to do that but would like to give it a try!

If you liked this and would like to encourage me to do this more often, you could add something to the tip-jar (donate button) which would help us out a lot. Thank you for reading!
