If you had to eat the same thing for dinner every night for the next year, what would you choose?
I would quite happily eat the same thing every day for a year for each meal, i.e. have the same breakfast every day, same lunch every day and same dinner every day with the same between-meal snacks every day as long as:
- They made up a well balanced diet overall. Maybe over each meal/snack but definitely over each day.
- Hubby and I did not have to prepare them and/or they could be bought pre-prepared or delivered to the door ready cooked á la "Meals on Wheels".
- There was some variance in vegetables and fruit so that "in season" items were used.
- The meals can be prepared taking into account food intolerances and medications.
I never get bored eating the same food over and over again. If I like something, I will like it tomorrow. Having a pretty short attention span and awful short term memory will also make this easy for me. I almost always have the same breakfast and "evening" (middle of the night) meal every day, as it is. Hey, if I could get all of my sustenance by taking pills or drinking some nice tasting liquid like in so many 70s and 80s science fiction stories, I would, as long as I could also occasionally have yummy snacks to keep my taste buds happy.
Which reminds me, at 5 am it is probably time for that "evening" meal!
