Quote of the Week

Today the world changes so quickly that in growing up we take leave not just of youth but of the world we were young in. Fear and resentment of what is new is really a lament for the memories of our childhood.

Interesting thought. The first seven or eight years of my life were happy — well, I only remember realising that I was not happy any more at around seven and consciously noticed the dysfunctionality of our family at about nine. Maybe that is why I hate change – I still want it to be like it was when I was five.
