A number of U.S. states are planning to legalize marijuana. Do you agree or disagree with this policy, and why?
I know medicinal MJ is legal in some states but I had not heard about this potential legalisation. Medicinally only? Which states?
I am all for it. I believe that MJ is a much less dangerous drug than alcohol and that is legal almost everywhere in the world! Yes, it can have bad effects on some people with susceptabilities. So can alcohol and tobacco/nicotine. MJ makes people mellow and relaxed whereas alcohol makes many people violent and aggressive. YMMV but I know what I have seen and experienced.
I am all for legalising marijuana everywhere — US states, the UK, everywhere. I could go on at length about the only reason it was ever made illegal was that hemp makes much better paper than trees and the lumber lobby had the ear of some goverment's members/senators/voters. I could recommend you at least one book to read once I found it in a box somewhere. I could tell you about medical trials that prove it is a useful treatment for nausea (chaemotherapy and AIDS patients) and for pain (M.S. and other chronic pain conditions). I know how I feel and what I believe and that you are entitled to your views and so I will stop preaching.
