The things we don't think about.

Yes. This. My MonSter is doing very similar things to my brain. I used to be a programmer and now cannot always remember my name let alone play my flute or guitar.

I like to think that sharing my life helps other people. I do so little these days that actually achieves anything (well, I don't earn money, for example) that I need there to be *some* reason for my life! I keep getting comments form people who love my symptom diary posts and these links that I repost and so I get a sense of purpose from my LJ/writing. I hope to do more writing, both on LJ/blog and on paper/computer. Maybe one day I will even sell a story and/or some memoirs. I have a LiveJournal post that is proving in my mind about all this and about wanting to leave something behind - to be remembered even though I do not have kids. I will get around to putting it down on paper/keyboard eventually.
