Writer's Block: Top Dog

What kind of dog (counting mixes and mutts) gets your vote as the champion of dogs?

Border Collie (my brother has one) or any Heinz 57 (our dog when I was a teen was a mongrel/mutt/Heinz57/cross from the RSPCA). One that I could walk but that would also snuggle. I am a cat person to be honest but dogs are more trainable (using dog-pack psychology of course, á la Cesar Milan) and a dog would be an excuse to get out and walk more often. The only problem would be when I was too ill to go out and walk and hubs was too busy at work but no doubt there is a dog-walking service near here and/or mum might help out.

I played with a border collie a few summers ago, while traveling with Steve. While he was fishing, a border collie was nearby with his owners. He brought a frisbee to me and we played catch for a good 15 minutes. He was so fun to play with - with so much energy - and so nimble too. He caught almost every toss.

I fell in love with border collies then, but found out they need so much exercise - more than I can give them. It sure was fun though!

Oh goodness yes! Sam (my brother's border collie) has a tennis ball addiction/fetish. He can chase one that you kick and bring it back to you, dropping it at your feet, for literally HOURS - indoors and out!
